Judging

USA Archery currently certifies 3 different levels of judges.  To find out which level meets your needs read the descriptions below:

Level 1 Certified Judge
The USA Archery Level 1 Judge Certification Course is an introductory course into judging and is the first course in the USA Archery Judge Certification Program. This course will provide students with the basic tools to judge local and club competition events and some state level events under the supervision of a Level 2 Certified Judge. (minimum age 15)

Level 2 Certified Judge
Upon successful completion of this online course, each student will be certified as a Level 2 Certified Archery Judge and will be qualified to judge at state and regional events. USA Archery Level 2 Certified Judges will also be allowed to judge at national level events under the supervision of a USA Archery Level 3 National Judge. (minimum age 18)

Level 3 National Judge 
Upon successful completion of the online and in person practical portions of this course, each student will be certified as a USA Archery Level 3 National Judge and will be qualified to judge at all USA Archery local, state, and national events. (minimum age 20)

World Archery Continental Judge
USA Archery Judges who wish to officiate Continental events (World Archery Americas – WAA) may apply for Continental Judge candidacy after meeting the following criteria:

  • Current USA Archery National Judge Certification for 2 years
  • USA Archery Officials & Rules committee endorsement

World Archery International Judge
USA Archery National Judges who wish to officiate World Archery events may apply for candidacy after meeting the following criteria:

  • Current USA Archery National Judge Certification
  • USA Archery Officials & Rules committee endorsement
  • World Archery Americas Continental Judge with requisite years of experience
