SUMMARY:Shamrock Slam
DESCRIPTION:The Shamrock Slam is a different type of tournament. \n\n\n\nEach archer will shoot a 600 round on either a single spot or a triangle. \n\n\n\nThe top qualifiers in each division will go into single elimination rounds. \n\n\n\nQualification cuts are as follows: \n\n\n\n\nTop 32 Compound Adult\n\n\n\nTop 32 Compound Youth\n\n\n\nTop 16 Recurve Adult\n\n\n\nTop 16 Recurve Youth\n\n\n\nTop 8 Barebow Adult\n\n\n\nTop 8 Barebow Youth\n\n\n\n\nAwards for Shamrock Slam   \n\n\n\nAll division winners will get a custom belt buckle \n\n\n\n2nd and 3rd place will receive plaques. \n\n\n\nRecurve and Barebow – 1 – 600 round from 18 meters; choice of 40cm single spot\, or triangle.  Outer 10 scoring. \n\n\n\nCompound – 1 – 600 round from 18 meters; choice of 40cm single spot\, or triangle.   Inner 10 scoring.  \n\n\n\nUp to 4 Archers per bale.  Archers will have their own target face  \n\n\n\nShooting Rules-Qualifications \n\n\n\n\n2 Minute Ends\n\n\n\n3 Arrow Ends\n\n\n\nRecurve and Barebow Outer 10 Scoring\n\n\n\nCompound Inner 10 Scoring\n\n\n\n\nShooting Rules-Eliminations \n\n\n\n\nEnds are the same as qualifications\n\n\n\nRecurve Set Scoring used for all divisions\n\n\n\n5-5 is a tie\, World Archery tie breaker rules\n\n\n\nAs archers roll into their qualification rounds they may not get their practice end on the same bale they start with.\n\n\n\nArchers may skip a round as others are doing their eliminations.  They do NOT get another practice end.\n\n\n\nPractice ends are 3 arrows only and max of 3 ends\n\n\n\n\nNo unofficial Practice. \n\n\n\nThis tournament is part of the DSA tournament series \n\n\n\nMEMBERSHIP – Must be a member of USA Archery.  Click here for membership information \n\n\n\nUSA Archery Dress Code \n\n\n\nArrow Requirements (World Archery\, Book 3): \n\n\n\n11.1.7. Upper garments must cover the front and back of the body\, and the midriff when at full draw. They must also have sleeves.7. Shoes must cover the entire foot unless pre-approved by USAA due to an injury or disability. Sport/athletic shoes are recommended.8. At no time will any article that bears wording\, insignias\, innuendo or images determined by USAA to be offensive or inappropriate be allowed on the field of play.9. When participating in the USAA Collegiate Target and 3D Regionals and Nationals\, archers and team officials must wear tops that indicate what school they are representing. Apparel must conform to all university rules regarding school logo usage. During the Team and Mixed Team Rounds\, all members ofone team by class and division shall be dressed in the same team uniform. The teams of one school may wear different design and color uniforms (i.e. teams in different classes and divisions are not required to match). Team coaches and managers may wear a different style uniform than the team but should wearthe same colors and should be easily identified as the official of their team. Headwear is optional. SUMMARY:2023 USA Archery AZ Field Championships
DESCRIPTION:The Arizona State Field Championships are open to everyone and anyone that would like to shoot in a quality sanctioned event. Only members of USA Archery Arizona and member JOAD Clubs are eligible to shoot for the state championship titles. Guests\, defined as Non USA Archery Arizona members\, may shoot in the guest division\, no awards are available. Guests must still possess the correct USA Archery membership.  More info here. \n\n\n\nThe tournament will be held at the Naranja Park Archery Range walking courses\, 660 West Naranja Drive\, Oro Valley\, AZ. Located in the Town of Oro Valley with the beautiful Santa Catalina Mountains as the backdrop\, Naranja Park Archery Range’s  East and West walking courses will be the field of play in the amazing Sonoran Desert. Good shoes or boots are recommended\, for the trails are steep in certain locations. \n\n\n\nThere will be 24 targets shot on Saturday November 18. 12 unmarked targets on the East walking course. Then there will be 12 marked targets (known distances) shot on the West course after completing the East course. Three arrows will be shot at each target for a total of 72 arrows. \n\n\n\nArcher check-in will be at 7:00am on Saturday. Practice opens at 7:00am\, an Archer meeting will be held at 8:45am\, shooting to follow at 9:30 am. Awards to follow on Saturday after all of the scorecards are turned in and scores verified. \n\n\n\nWorld Archery does not recognize U-15 and U-13 divisions. Therefore in this tournament\, U-15 and U-13 shoot from the U-18 stake which is the Blue stake. All Barebow U-18\, U-15 and U-13 shoot from the yellow stake.

The rear stabilizer shall not touch any part of the body.\n\n\n\nOne consistent nocking point only is permitted and may be held by one or two nock locators\, which shall be snap on type\, shrink tubing\, thread or dental floss\, tied or served on the serving. Sighting reference points\, string peep (with or without a lens) and/or kisser button may not be moved during a round. Scopes\, clickers and draw checks are not allowed. A round or oval housing around the points of reference is not considered a scope as long as no lens is used. No additional pin guard may be used. A sight pin consisting of a housing with a hole through it\, that does not contain a fixed reference point within the hole\, is not allowed.\n\n\n\nRelease aids will be permitted. In the case of physical disability of the arms or hands\, a chew strap may be used in place of fingers or release aids.\n\n\n\nA pinguard mounted on the sight\, and a level mounted anywhere will be legal in this style of shooting\, provided that there are no additional marks or blemishes on either of these items that could be used for sighting.\n\n\n\nA string of suitable material with a center serving and end servings of the same or different color than the string may be used. One consistent nocking point only is permitted. Nocking point locators shall not extend more than ½ inch above or below the arrow nock when at full draw. Brush buttons and string silencers properly attached will be legal.\n\n\n\nOne anchor point only is permitted.\n\n\n\nAll arrows shall be identical in size\, length\, weight\, and fletching with allowances for wear and tear.\n\n\n\nBrush buttons\, string silencer\, positioned no closer than midway between the nocking point and where the string touches the wheel/cam\, and bow quiver installed on the opposite side of the sight window\, with no part of the quiver or attachments visible in the sight window are legal. There shall be no device\, mechanical or otherwise\, in the sight window except the arrow rest\, arrow plate or plunger button.\n\n\n\nNo clickers\, draw checks or levels will be allowed.\n\n\n\nWeight(s) may be added to the lower part of the riser. All weights\, regardless of shape\, shall mount directly to the riser without rods\, extensions\, angular mounting connection or shock-absorbing devises.\n\n\n\nThe unstrung bow complete with permitted accessories shall be capable of passing through a hole or ring with a 12.2 cm inside diameter +/- 0.5 mm.\n\n\n\nThe string may be any color but must have a single color center serving. Brush buttons and string silencers\, properly placed\, may be used.\n\n\n\nOne consistent nocking point only is permitted and may be held by one or two nock locators.\n\n\n\nFace walking and string walking are allowed.\n\n\n\nGloves\, tabs or fingers shall be the only legal releases. Marks or lines may be added directly to the tab and shall be uniform in size\, shape and color. DESCRIPTION:Several years ago Bob Pian and Janice Price started a tournament that became a staple to the Arizona archery community.  The Iron Archer was born.  Janice and Bob ran the tournament for several years.  DSA would like to honor their contribution to the archery community by bringing back the….. \n\n\n\nDesert Sky Archer’s Iron Archer \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFormat:  \n\n\n\n\nSaturday is a 60 Arrow qualifying indoor round-2 minute ends\, 3 arrows per end.\n\n\n\nSunday has the top 48 qualifiers shooting in flighted round robin matches.  Recurve Olympic set scoring round.\n\n\n\nArcher’s who qualify 49th and higher will receive a $15 refund via paypal.\n\n\n\nBelt Buckle given to the winner of each flight.  There will be 8 flights.\n\n\n\nAll archers are combined when deciding flights.\n\n\n\nTarget Face will be World Archery Single Spot or Triangle only.  Outer 10 scoring for Recurve and Barebow.  Inner 10 Scoring for Compound.\n\n\n\n5-5 Ties are decided by a single arrow shoot off.  Closest to center wins.\n\n\n\nIf an archer needs to withdraw during the round robin matches\, that archer forfeits all matches.  Wins will be given to any archer they have or will have shot against.
